ED Violence Prevention

As part of our ongoing effort to prevent and punish violence in the emergency department (ED), California ACEP supported AB 172 (Rodriguez), which would have increased penalties for those who commit violence in the ED. Because AB 172 failed to become law, California ACEP elected to work on other solutions to improve safety and combat violence in the ED. Our ED Violence Work Group developed two different posters that can be displayed in your ED waiting room and hallways. Let’s send the message that violence against health care workers is not acceptable. California ACEP will continue to pursue other violence prevention efforts to make the ED safer for you and your team.

We are grateful for the partnership of the California Highway Patrol on this project.

Please contact our office with any questions about our efforts.
